Dual Infrared Furnace

Atmosphere control infrared (IR) tube furnace radiated heat in two manner: 1) horizontal applicable for surface heat treatment (superficial melting and alloying, synthesis of nano-materials, brazing of dissimilar materials). 2) Vertical for surface hardening of steel components. The dual furnace can convert 20 kW of electrical power to thermal energy. In the first state, chamber vertically set up in the furnace. The furnace consists of two flanges for a reaction chamber (Parts 3 and 8), valve (part 1), vacuum gauge (part 2), pressure gauge (part 10), gate valve appurtenance (parts 12 and 13), twofold box steel body (part 6), ten heat-wave radiation sources 2 kW (part 5), reaction chamber made of pure quartz with heat resistance up to 1700 ° C, rounded water cooling system, vacuum pump (part 9). At first, the sample (part 7) is placed in the quartz chamber by a thermal wire (part 4) which is mechanically connected to the upper flange. After the heat treatment, the sample is quenched in the cooling box (part 11) by disconnecting the wire. To measure the temperature in the system, the S-type thermocouple attached to the sample is used in the chamber. Using a temperature control system connected to a computer system, many parameters such as the rate of heating and cooling, time and temperature of each cycle, power of each phase could be controlled with minimum error rate and digram of the thermal cycles in 9 steps will be plotted. The furnace can be rotated 90 degrees in horizontal mode for further applications.

Extraordinary increase in the heating (thermal radiation sources) and cooling (internal cooling) rate and, also the type of radiant heat in these lamps are the most important features and benefits of this product which led to money and time-saving in processes. The radiation lamps produce a radial heat with a uniform distribution of temperature throughout the lamp which lead to an increase in hot zone and homogeneous distribution in the furnace. So, samples are heated and cooled under similar and uniform condition. The dual furnace has the great advantages of product speed and circulation in the glaze and coating industries. The advantages of the dual furnace can be mentioned the following:

1. The concentration of heat on the surface of the material

2. Significant reduction in process time

3. Saving electrical energy consumption (more than 75%)

4. Prevent the internal microstructure changes

5. Ultra-high heating and cooling rates

6. The uniform surface microstructure and improve product surface quality

7. Automatic and precise control
