Majid Bazargan was born in Tehran in 1961. He obtained his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 1986. After that, he spent 6 years working in various engineering and cultural occupations. In 1992, he decided to return to school and pursue his studies abroad. His MSc thesis focused on turbulent flows and in 1995, he successfully graduated from the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of New Brunswick in Canada. He continued his graduate studies and in the summer of 2001, he defended his PhD thesis in the field of heat transfer to supercritical fluids at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. Immediately after his graduation, he was employed as a faculty member at the Mechanical Engineering department at K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Iran, where he has been working ever since.
